Product Developer

We are looking for a highly motivated, process-driven, and detail-oriented Product Developer with strong experience in the bicycle industry. In this position, you will play a key role in the constant evolution and maintenance of our product portfolio, as well as manage assembly processes and quality control. 


Additionally, you will contribute to the development and execution of our strategic product roadmap, at the direction of key stakeholders (Management and Founder). 


You will act as a technical support person for the operation teams in Australia and Europe to ensure we continue to exceed customer sales experiences. In day-to-day activities, you will work closely with our operational, brand and eCommerce teams to ensure we are capturing potential new (customer) requirements.

As Product Developer at LEKKER Bikes, we require a user-first mentality, a strong eye for detail and an analytic mindset. You have robust stakeholder management skills and have solid data available to back your arguments.

Your Role

  • Manage our product category (Australia and Europe).

  • Together with key stakeholders and partners, you develop and execute a multi-year product development roadmap and contribute to a long-term product and innovation strategy.

  • Ownership of bill of material (BOM) per bike/accessory.

  • Full sourcing responsibility for high-quality components and continually monitoring global trends, competitive launches, consumer insights, and new technologies to continue business growth opportunities.

  • The point of contact for manufacturing partners on the product Level (ongoing production, BOM development, product improvements, pricing, etc.) is the.

  • Assembly and Quality Control: Having full responsibility for the product quality demands, but also ensuring QC reporting on the assembly of bikes at our manufacturing partners.

  • Manage new product introductions (NPI process). 

  • Works closely with procurement and supply chain Lead to ensure that components meet established requirements and co-create on managing cost pricing.

  • You go into the market, connect directly with our riders our teams, and learn. You will bring interesting product insights back to discuss key stakeholders and management.

  • Be prepared to support our sales teams in daily miscellaneous activities which involve our products.

Requirements 

  • English fluency and EU residency; able to work in our Amsterdam office for at least three days per week.

  • Bachelor Degree in a Science, Engineering or Product Design field.

  • At least four years of experience, with at least two years, are within the bicycle field.

  • A strong, hands-on individual who is self-motivated and resourceful with a passion for excellence and commitment to quality.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and building relationships with suppliers.

  • Collaborative leader and team player; able to work cohesively and seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Critical thinking with a strong motivation to solve problems.

  • Attention to detail while keeping the bigger picture in mind.

  • Willing to take frequent travel and work with suppliers.
